Live-In Caregiver

Overview

As a Live-In Caregiver, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support in a person’s home or residential setting. You’ll help with daily routines, promote safety and independence, and communicate clearly with the individual and their support network. This paid position may involve live-in arrangements; specific schedules and living arrangements should be discussed before accepting the role.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe patient lifting; use proper manual handling practices, including when heavy lifting is required.
• Prepare meals, clean living areas, support medication administration as authorized, and monitor and report vital signs or changes in condition.
• Provide senior care, geriatric care, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory care, adapting support to each person’s needs.
• Offer direct support and behavior management for individuals with developmental, cognitive, or other disabilities while respecting each resident’s rights.
• Communicate with clients and care teams; drive a standard passenger car when needed and authorized.

Skills

• Caregiving experience in home care, home and community care, assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, residential care homes, personal care homes, group homes, or retirement homes is relevant.
• Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities, cognitive disabilities, or developmental disabilities is valued.
• Knowledge of ADL assistance, medication administration, vital signs, client communication, meal preparation, cleaning, and safe patient lifting practices is useful.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills are preferred; follow applicable care plans and medication procedures.
• Demonstrate patience, reliability, respect for resident’s rights, and sound judgment in a live-in care setting.

Pay: $1,200.00 per month
