At Home Compassionate Care is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and compassionate caregiver to support a young adult participant with daily living and community engagement. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful connections and making a real difference in someone’s life. The caregiver will provide one-on-one support both at home and in the community, including accompanying the participant to classes at McNeese State University and assisting throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) at home (personal care, hygiene, meal prep, etc.)
• Accompany the participant on outings including:
• Dining out
• Attending movies
• Participating in local activities and excursions around Lake Charles and Sulphur
• Encourage independence while ensuring safety and comfort at all times

Hours

: 7PM-7AM OR 7AM-7PM on a rotating shift.

Week 1: Work Monday, Off Tuesday-Thursday, Work Friday-Sunday

Week 2: Off Monday, Work Tuesday-Thursday, Off Friday-Sunday

Job Description and

Qualifications:

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
• Comfortable providing full ADL support: Providing assistance to clients with dressing, bathing, incontinence care, meal prep, light housekeeping, etc.
• Prep meals according to the customer’s dietary restrictions
• Help participants with their shopping as needed
• Do the necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
• Provide emotional support as mandated by a comprehensive plan of care
• Recognize and inform supervisors about uncommon and unusual circumstances related to the Participant
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Proven 2+ years of experience as a personal care assistant
• Committed to health & safety
• Able to do light housekeeping and cooking
