Personal Assistant/Caregiver

Job Description

I am a 27-year-old young adult with cerebral palsy looking for a dependable, compassionate, and positive part-time caregiver to assist me every other weekend.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others and is looking for meaningful part-time work. It is also an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, special education, or other healthcare fields who want valuable hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wheelchair transfers (bed, shower, vehicle, etc.)
• Help with personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming
• Prepare simple meals
• Assist with mobility around the home and in the community
• Light housekeeping, including laundry and basic tidying
• Provide transportation when needed (mileage reimbursed)
• Offer companionship and support while promoting independence

Qualifications

• Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous caregiving experience is a plus but not required for the right person
