Personal Care Aide

Overview

As a Personal Care Aide, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on support that helps clients maintain comfort, safety, and independence at home or in a care setting. You’ll assist with daily routines, communicate changes clearly, and follow each person’s care plan and rights. Your impact: attentive personal care and observation help clients feel supported while giving families and care teams timely information.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and personal care.
• Observe and monitor clients; report changes in condition and record vital signs as directed.
• Support meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Follow care plans and applicable privacy practices, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); assist with medication administration only as authorized.
• Use safe manual handling, patient transfer methods, and equipment such as a Hoyer lift when trained and directed.

Requirements

• Experience in caregiving, patient care, home care, home health, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, long-term care, hospice, or home and community care is valued.
• Relevant experience may include senior care, geriatrics, Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory care; direct support for people with autism, developmental or intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or other disabilities is also valued.
• Communicate respectfully with clients and uphold residents’ rights.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge or certification is preferred; nursing experience, patient observation, and patient monitoring skills are also helpful.
• Ability to perform assigned physical tasks, including lifting, is required; follow safety guidance and role-specific training.

Pay: From $13.23 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 30.0 per week
