Personal Care Aide

Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their personal hygiene needs are met with kindness and professionalism Support patients with mobility by utilizing proper patient transfer methods such as manual handling techniques to promote safety during movement or transfers Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and accurately documenting findings Assisting with meal consumption as necessary to promote proper nutrition Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that respects residents’ rights and promotes mental well-being Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and ensuring a safe living environment in compliance with health standards

Requirements Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to support diverse needs Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly and accurately report findings Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize proper manual handling techniques for patient transfers Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining resident’s rights and confidentiality under HIPAA regulations Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous A compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving will ensure you excel in this role
