Private Caregiver

Job Overview

As a Private Caregiver, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support in a client’s home and community. You’ll assist with daily routines, observe changes in well-being, and communicate clearly with clients and their care team. Your impact: Consistent, person-centered care helps clients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate.
• Monitor clients, observe and report changes, and follow care plans, resident rights, and privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Support medication administration, vital signs, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within your training and authorized scope.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Offer direct support and compassionate care for older adults and people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and other disabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, patient care, home care, home health, or home and community care is valuable. Background in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, hospice, memory care, geriatrics, senior care, or long-term care is preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities is an asset.
• Knowledge of patient observation and monitoring, care plans, medication administration, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and patient personal care assistance is preferred.
• Familiarity with manual handling, heavy lifting, patient transfer methods, and first aid and CPR is helpful; follow safe practices and work within your training.
• Bring clear client communication, respect for privacy and resident rights, and a dependable, patient-centered approach.

Pay: $25.89 - $31.17 per hour
