The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role provides crucial support to the nursing staff and assists patients with their daily care needs. This role is essential for ensuring patient comfort and safety in a hospital unit environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Possess a basic understanding of nursing principles.

* Participate in and receive the nursing report from licensed staff while maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity assist with activities of daily living (DLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

* Help patients with mobility, transferring them safely in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.

* Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any abnormalities to the patient’s primary nurse.
