Care Partner (Caregiver)

Position Summary

The carepartner will provide personalized care and services to residents, uphold the philosophy of assisted living, and promote the well-being of the residents. Carepartners will provide assistance and support with residents’ activities of daily living in a professional and caring manner. Duties performed are expected to be in accordance with the current Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as, the guidelines outlined in Oaks Senior Living policies and the employee handbook.

Primary Responsibilities

Resident Services

1. Provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the Oaks Senior Living philosophy of Person-Centered Lifestyle and in accordance with resident rights.

2. Assist residents with the activities of daily living according to individual resident preferences.

3. Protect the confidentiality of personal and medical information of residents and coworkers.

4. Adhere to each resident’s Negotiated Service Plan; notify the Shift Supervisor, MOD, Wellness Director, and/or Executive Director of any changes in the resident’s condition.

5. Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.

6. Assist with resident activities, encourage, and assist residents to participate in activities.

7. Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, escort residents to and from the dining room, assist with serving meals, assist residents with meals in ways that meet their individual needs and desires, observe and report changes in the residents’ appetite and physical abilities to eat and drink.

8. Assist with cleaning the dining room after the meal service as assigned.

9. Assist with cleaning and tidying residents’ room/apartment.

10. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in resident, employee, and public bathrooms as needed.
