Caregiver

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced FEMALE caregiver to assist with the daily care of one of our 28 year-old twin girls who are both on the spectrum. These clients display a variety of unique needs, including maladaptive behaviors, and require a caregiver who is skilled in managing challenging situations with empathy and consistency.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism and developmental disabilities, particularly those who exhibit challenging behaviors, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive in a supportive, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to the twins in both structured and unstructured settings.
• Manage and redirect maladaptive behaviors using proven techniques (e.g., positive behavior reinforcement, de-escalation strategies).
• Assist with daily activities such as personal care, meals, hygiene, dressing, and transportation.
• Create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the girls feel supported, valued, and understood.
• Collaborate with family members and other professionals to track progress and implement individualized care plans.
• Engage in therapeutic play, communication exercises, and social skills training.
• Monitor and document behavioral patterns, triggers, and progress, providing regular updates to the family.
• Facilitate opportunities for social interaction and growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum, especially those with maladaptive behaviors.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or other behavior management techniques is highly preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in stressful situations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with family members and professionals.
• Experience with special needs children/adults in a home or clinical setting is a plus
