Caregiver/Companion -Facility Based Care

About Medical Directions

Medical Directions, Inc. is expanding into Northern California and seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to support residents living in assisted-living, nursing and senior-care facilities.

Our caregivers provide nonmedical companionship, supervision and personal assistance while helping residents maintain their comfort, dignity and independence. This position does not involve providing services inside private residences.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with permitted activities of daily living
• Assist with mobility, positioning and transfers within the caregiver’s training
• Assist residents during meals when permitted
• Provide safety supervision and fall-risk awareness
• Observe residents and promptly report concerns to facility staff
• Follow resident service plans and facility instructions
• Document services accurately and submit required timesheets
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality
• Follow infection-control, safety and emergency procedures
• Arrive on time and remain dependable for scheduled assignments

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least one year of caregiving experience preferred
• Experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities preferred
• Assisted-living, memory-care or nursing-facility experience is a plus
• Able to communicate professionally with residents, families and facility staff
• Able to safely perform the physical duties required by the assignment
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Reliable transportation to assignments in Elk Grove
• Able to pass required background checks and Live Scan
• Current TB clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain them before assignment

CNA certification is welcomed but is not required for caregiver-only assignments. Employees may only perform duties permitted by their credentials, training and assigned role.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
