Caregiver/homemaker

Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, with experience in various caregiving settings such as home health, assisted living, or group homes. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting their independence.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
• Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment.
• Support clients with mobility assistance, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or developmental disabilities as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing or social work is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
• Experience in home & community care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
