Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary

As a Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on support that helps clients and residents maintain comfort, safety, and independence at home or in care settings. You’ll assist with daily routines, follow care plans, and communicate changes to the appropriate care team. Your impact: Attentive personal care and observation help clients and residents feel supported while enabling timely responses to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and patient transfers; use safe manual handling and equipment such as a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Observe and monitor clients, record vital signs when required, and report changes in condition or safety concerns.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and follow care plans, privacy practices, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) requirements, and residents’ rights.
• Provide compassionate senior, dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory, hospice, and long-term care, adapting support to individual needs.

Experience

• Caregiving, patient care, personal care assistance, home care, home health, or home and community care experience is relevant.
• Experience in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or long-term care is valued, as is experience in geriatrics.
• Experience supporting people with autism, developmental or intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or other disabilities is welcome.
• Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring, transfer methods, heavy lifting, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is useful. First aid and CPR credentials are preferred where applicable.
• Strong client communication, reliability, and respect for individual preferences are essential.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
