Caregiver

Job Summary

As a Caregiver at our Memory Care facility, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care and support to residents living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other memory-related conditions. Your primary responsibility is to assist residents with their daily living needs while ensuring their safety, comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.

We are looking for an experienced caregiver who understands the importance of patience, compassion, and individualized care when working with seniors. Previous professional caregiving experience is required, preferably in assisted living, memory care, or a senior care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assistance to residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Assist residents with meals, hydration, and other personal care needs.
• Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being and report any changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor.
• Provide compassionate support to residents living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.
• Use appropriate communication techniques when assisting residents experiencing confusion, agitation, or behavioral changes.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities and social interactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Follow individual care plans, facility policies, and established safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Complete required documentation and daily care reports accurately.

Requirements

• Previous professional caregiving experience is REQUIRED.
• Experience working with seniors in assisted living, memory care, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly preferred.
• Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of basic personal care, resident safety, and activities of daily living.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care needs.
• Patient, compassionate, dependable, and attentive to residents' needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a senior care environment.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it, as required.
• Must meet applicable California employment and facility requirements.
