Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support nursing staff with clinical tasks such as medication administration under supervision, catheter care, wound care, and basic infection control practices following aseptic techniques.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort through tailored memory care strategies.
• Help manage patient transfers and positioning safely using appropriate lifting practices to prevent injury for both patients and caregivers.
• Document patient information thoroughly in medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

Skills

• Proven experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home health environments.
