Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support patient transfer methods utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices at all times.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff promptly, especially in critical care or behavioral health settings.
• Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensuring proper medical documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, specimen collection (phlebotomy), and basic medication administration under supervision.
• Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and proper hand hygiene across all patient interactions.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care.
