Home Health Aide

Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on care that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home and in the community. You’ll support older adults and people with disabilities, adapting your approach to each person’s needs and care plan. Your impact: By assisting with daily activities and observing changes in condition, you help clients maintain dignity and help families and care teams stay informed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and patient transfers; use a Hoyer lift when appropriate and trained.
• Provide personal care, meal preparation, cooking, laundry, and light cleaning according to the client’s plan.
• Observe and report changes in health or behavior
• Support medication reminders, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, end-of-life care, following the care plan and applicable regulations.
• Communicate clearly with clients, families, and care teams while protecting confidentiality and following the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Requirements

• Experience in home health, home care, home and community care, or a home health agency is helpful; assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, live-in, senior care, and geriatric patient experience are also valued.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, patient observation, patient transfer methods, and home health care regulations is an asset.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic life support (BLS) training is preferred.
• Able to perform physical care duties, including heavy lifting when required, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
