Home Health Aide

Job Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, practical support that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home and in the community. You’ll assist with daily routines, observe changes in condition, and communicate clearly with clients and their care teams. This role may involve working with older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals receiving memory or hospice care.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, transfers, meal preparation, cooking, laundry, and light cleaning.
• Observe and report changes in clients’ condition; measure vital signs and complete accurate medical documentation and records using electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration and catheter care only as permitted by applicable regulations and assigned care plans.
• Follow home health care regulations, protect confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and use safe patient transfer methods, including a Hoyer lift when appropriate.

Skills

• Required: Compassionate caregiving, patient care, client communication, patient observation, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Relevant experience may include home health, home care, home healthcare assistance, home and community care, home health agency, assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, live-in employment, senior care, geriatrics, geriatric patients, or patient personal care assistance.
• Experience with Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice, end-of-life care, or individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities is valuable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, and documentation is helpful. First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and basic life support (BLS) skills are preferred.
• Ability to perform required heavy lifting safely; follow care plans and applicable scope-of-practice requirements.

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
