Home Health Aide

Job Summary

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, practical support that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home. You’ll assist with personal care and daily routines, observe changes in clients’ condition, and communicate clearly with clients, families, and care teams. Your impact: By noticing and reporting changes promptly, you help clients and care teams respond to needs and support continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for pediatric and adult patients. provide personal care, transfers, and mobility; use a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate.
• Observe clients, take vital signs as assigned, and document care and relevant changes in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Support meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and laundry according to each client’s needs and care plan.
• Provide appropriate support for senior care, geriatric patients, dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, developmental disabilities, and end-of-life or hospice care.
• Follow home health care regulations, protect confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and provide first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within your training.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, home health, home care, or home and community care is valuable; assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, home health agency, or live-in experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care, patient observation, medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical records is helpful.
• Catheter care and medication administration experience are preferred; perform these tasks only when authorized and trained.
• Demonstrated client communication, patient transfer methods, and ability to handle required lifting are important.
• First aid and basic life support (BLS) or CPR training are preferred.

Pay: $19.65 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
