Home Health Aide

Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide attentive, respectful care that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home. You’ll support daily routines, communicate changes in condition, and follow care plans and home health regulations. Your impact: Careful observation and dependable personal care help clients and their families navigate daily needs with greater confidence.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and patient transfers; use a Hoyer lift when appropriate and trained.
• Observe and report changes, take vital signs as assigned, and document care in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration only as permitted by the care plan and applicable regulations; provide catheter care when assigned and qualified.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and do laundry; communicate clearly with clients, families, and care teams while protecting confidential information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Provide compassionate support for dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice, and end-of-life needs.

Qualifications

• Patient care, caregiving, and home health care assistance experience; familiarity with medical terminology and medical records is helpful.
• Preferred experience in home care, home health agencies, assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, senior care, geriatrics, or home and community care.
• Experience with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities is valued.
• Knowledge of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); basic life support (BLS) is preferred.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and safely meet physical demands, including heavy lifting when required. Live-in employment experience is a plus.

Pay: $18.01 - $18.71 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
