Home Health Aide

Job Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, practical support that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home and in the community. You’ll assist with daily routines, observe changes in condition, and communicate clearly with clients, families, and care teams. Your impact: attentive personal care and timely observations help clients and their care teams respond to changing needs.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe patient transfer methods; use a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate.
• Observe and report changes, take vital signs as assigned, and document care in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration and catheter care only as permitted by training, care plans, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and do laundry according to each client’s needs and preferences.
• Provide compassionate support in home health, senior care, memory care, dementia care, hospice, and end-of-life settings.

Qualifications

• Patient care or caregiving experience is valued, including home care, home health agency, assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, live-in, or home and community care.
• Experience with geriatric patients, Alzheimer’s care, developmental disabilities, or other disabilities is helpful.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, medical records, patient observation, and home healthcare regulations is preferred.
• Understand HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic life support (BLS) training is preferred. Ability to handle physical tasks, including heavy lifting, is required when safely assisting clients.

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
