housekeeper & Caregiver

Overview

As a Housekeeper & Caregiver, you’ll help clients and residents feel safe, comfortable, and respected in their homes or care settings. You’ll balance attentive personal care with practical housekeeping, meal preparation, and clear communication. Your impact: By following care plans and noticing changes in a person’s condition, you help clients, residents, and their care teams respond to needs promptly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, transfers, and personal transportation as assigned.
• Observe and monitor clients or residents, including vital signs when required; report changes and document care according to care plans.
• Support medication administration only as authorized, and follow privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), resident rights, and safety procedures.
• Clean and maintain living areas; prepare meals and assist with cooking and other household tasks.
• Provide respectful support for older adults and people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, developmental disabilities, or other support needs.

Skills

• Essential: Compassionate caregiving, patient care, client communication, cleaning, meal preparation, patient observation, and safe manual handling, including heavy lifting when required.
• Preferred: Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, long-term care, senior care, geriatrics, memory care, dementia care, or nursing.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is valued.
• Familiarity with Hoyer lifts, patient transfer methods, patient monitoring, care plans, and medication administration is an asset.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge is preferred; follow applicable care-setting requirements.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
