Personal Care Aide

Overview

The Personal Care Assistant is primarily responsible for observing patients and providing assistance in personal care.

Responsibilities

* Observes assigned patient(s); serves in the capacity of a sitter for assigned patient(s) during specific shift. * Assists with basic personal care services as appropriate and as assigned. * Assists assigned patient(s) in toileting. * Observes for and reports safety hazards, and prepares incident reports. * Participates in team conferences, in-service education programs, and staff meetings. * Performs other related duties as assigned. ### Education

* Successful completion of all State, Federal, ARH, or accreditation mandated training programs as they become available.

### Experience

* Two (2) weeks to one (1) month on-the-job training is required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
