Personal Care Assistant / Caregiver

Job Summary

As a Personal Care Assistant / Caregiver, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on support that helps clients maintain comfort, safety, and independence at home or in a care setting. You’ll assist with daily routines, follow care plans, observe changes in well-being, and communicate clearly with clients and care teams. Your impact: Consistent, attentive care helps clients and residents feel supported while giving families greater confidence in their day-to-day care.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift and other equipment when trained and appropriate.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Monitor clients and residents, observe and report changes, and record vital signs when required.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and follow care plans, privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and residents’ rights.
• Provide direct support and compassionate care, including memory, dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care, as appropriate to the client’s needs.

Qualifications

• Patient care, caregiving, client communication, patient observation, patient monitoring, and patient personal care assistance skills.
• Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or long-term care is valuable.
• Experience supporting people with autism, developmental or intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or other disabilities is welcome.
• Knowledge of nursing, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), manual handling, patient transfer methods, and heavy lifting is helpful; follow applicable training and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with memory care, geriatrics, meal preparation, cleaning, and medication administration is preferred.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
