Personal Care Assistant (PCA)/ CNA

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geriatrics and medical care, demonstrating empathy and patience while ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for those with varying health conditions, including those requiring hospice care or support for disabilities.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing needs.
• Help with mobility and transportation to appointments or activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring changes are communicated to healthcare professionals.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Support clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health regimens.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, including nurses and therapists, to deliver comprehensive care.

Experience

• Previous experience in personal care or related fields such as geriatrics, medical-surgical care, or critical care is preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and understanding of various medical conditions is beneficial.
• Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or those in hospice care settings is a plus.
• Experience using electronic health record systems like Cerner is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a collaborative healthcare team.
