Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant who is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities. The Activities Assistant does much more than play games. We expect Activities that are physical, mental, social and spiritual. This position also documents on resident activities, interests, changes in physical ability and ability to participate in care. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for senior care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with geriatric patients to create a vibrant community atmosphere.

Duties

• Document, as directed in electronic Medical Records, PointClickCare.
• Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic programs aligned with residents’ interests and abilities.
• Build relationships with members of the community who would help enhance the options for activities at our facility.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and dignity during participation.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to tailor programs for residents with memory care needs or disabilities.
• Provide emotional support and counseling related to aging issues, fostering a positive environment for all residents.
• Document participation, progress, and feedback to continually enhance program quality.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License Required

Skills

• Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care environments, especially in recreational therapy or activity planning is desirable, but not required.
