Job Overview

We are seeking a Caregiver with experience working with patients with ALS to join our team for a part-time position, working three days a week from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others while gaining valuable experience in caregiving and healthcare support. Your role will involve transitioning the client from wheelchair to the toilet and from wheelchair to the bed as well as assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. There will be occasions when additional hours are required. Someone dependable is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
• Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through regular cleaning tasks and laundry assistance
• Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports
• Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental and emotional well-being

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, and working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
