Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Overview

As a Caregiver/Personal Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, person-centered support that helps clients maintain comfort, safety, and independence at home or in a care setting. Your impact: By following each client’s care plan and communicating changes promptly, you help clients and their support teams make informed decisions and maintain continuity of care.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, transfers, and manual handling; use a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate.
• Observe and monitor clients, record vital signs as assigned, and report changes or concerns to the appropriate care team.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and within applicable requirements; follow care plans, privacy practices under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and residents’ rights.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Offer direct support and clear client communication, adapting care for older adults and people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, developmental or intellectual disabilities, and other disabilities.

Experience

• Caregiving, patient care, patient personal care assistance, senior care, geriatrics, nursing, or home health experience is relevant.
• Experience in home care, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, memory care, or long-term care is valued.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, disabilities, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is welcome.
• Knowledge of patient observation, patient monitoring, transfer methods, heavy lifting, and medication administration is useful.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are preferred; training in dementia care and Alzheimer’s care is also valued.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
