Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being in various settings such as private homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or community programs. Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity.
• Support medication administration and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature under supervision or as trained.
• Help with mobility using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts to ensure safety during transfers.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and laundry.
• Observe and document changes in residents’ health or behavior, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or supervisors.
• Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being.

Skills

• Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
• Strong understanding of ADLs, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, geriatrics, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures.
