Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Job Overview

As a Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, person-centered support to people at home or in care settings. You’ll assist with daily routines, observe changes in well-being, and communicate clearly with clients and care teams. Your impact: Consistent, attentive care helps clients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence while giving families and care teams useful updates.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, dressing, bathing, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift and manual handling methods when appropriate.
• Follow care plans, monitor and report changes in condition, and record vital signs as assigned.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and within applicable requirements; protect privacy and follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and residents’ rights.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Offer direct support tailored to clients, including older adults and people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and other disabilities.

Requirements

• Patient care, caregiving, client communication, patient observation, and patient monitoring skills.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge or certification as required for the role.
• Experience in one or more relevant settings is valued: home care or home health, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or long-term care.
• Relevant background may include senior care, geriatrics, memory care, nursing, Alzheimer’s care, disability support, and experience with neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Able to perform assigned physical duties, including patient transfers and heavy lifting, using safe techniques.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.50 per hour
