Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status.
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks such as catheter care, medication administration, and specimen collection like phlebotomy.
• Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care techniques to promote comfort and safety.
• Assist in infection control practices by practicing aseptic techniques during patient interactions and handling infectious disease cases with proper precautions.
• Use manual handling skills for safe patient transfers and positioning, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts.
