Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
  • Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Support patient positioning and transfer using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or symptoms to nursing staff promptly and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment following infection control protocols including aseptic techniques
  • Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, including those with dementia or memory care needs, fostering a caring atmosphere

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs
