Companion Caregiver – Part-Time (Afternoons, 4 Days/Week)

Our client is a sharp, funny retired legal professional in Irvine with a great sense of humor and plenty of stories to share. She lives with her son's loving family, including two little ones, and is recovering from shoulder surgery. She'd love a reliable, upbeat companion to drive her to doctor and physical therapy visits and keep her company through the afternoon.

Golden Age Companions, a licensed home care organization in Orange County, is looking for a warm, reliable companion caregiver for a senior client in Irvine, CA.

Schedule: 4 afternoons a week – Monday and Wednesday 1:00–5:00 PM, Tuesday and Friday 12:00–4:00 PM. Start as soon as Friday 10/30 or Tuesday 11/3.

Pay: $20/hour

The caregiver drives the client to appointments and errands in their own car and walks her inside.

Duties include

- Driving the client to and from doctor and physical therapy appointments and errands, in your own car, and walking her inside

- Companionship and supervision

- Standby assistance with walking (client uses a cane at times)

- Light help around the home as needed

Requirements (California Home Care Services rules)

- Valid, active registration on the California Home Care Aide (HCA) Registry. Not registered yet? We'll help you get it done.

- A reliable car and current auto insurance (required)

- Current negative TB test (within the last 90 days, or we'll help you get one)

- Able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check

- Complete required HCA training (5 hours initial, 5 hours annually), which we provide

- Valid California driver's license

- At least 18 years old with proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

- Caregiving experience preferred, especially with early memory loss

- Dependable, patient, kind, and looking for a long-term client
