Elderly Caregiver

Overview

As an Elderly Caregiver, you’ll provide respectful, attentive support that helps older adults maintain comfort, dignity, and daily routines at home or in a care setting. You’ll follow care plans, communicate clearly with clients and care teams, and respond promptly to changes in a person’s condition. Your impact: Consistent patient observation and personal care help clients feel safer and support families and care teams in responding to their needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and other personal care.
• Monitor resident, observe changes, record vital signs as assigned, and share updates with the appropriate care team.
• Support medication administration only as authorized; follow care plans, privacy practices under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and residents’ rights.
• Prepare meals, assist with eating, maintain clean living areas, and provide personal transportation assistance when assigned.
• Use safe manual handling, patient transfer methods, and equipment such as a Hoyer lift when trained and authorized; provide companionship and direct support.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, senior care, geriatrics, patient care, home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or long-term care is valued.
• Familiarity with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory care; hospice care; nursing; patient monitoring; and care plans is helpful.
• Experience supporting people with autism, developmental, intellectual, neurodevelopmental, or other disabilities is welcome.
• Knowledge of cleaning, cooking, meal preparation, heavy lifting, and client communication is useful.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills are preferred; follow applicable requirements for medication administration and equipment use.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
