Position Summary

Wakefield Health Care Center, a community-owned skilled nursing facility and assisted living center in Wakefield, Nebraska, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated internationally trained nurse with a nursing degree to participate in our CNA - to -RN Program in partnership with CareerLadder. Program participants will begin as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and, with career coaching and support provided by CareerLadder and Wakefield Health Care Center, may be eligible to advance to an RN role with costs for licensure and exams covered by the employer.

While working as a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centered care to our residents in a warm, supportive environment. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents while working alongside a family-oriented team in our Medicare/Medicaid/VA-certified facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, and mobility.
• Help residents with meals, including feeding assistance and monitoring nutritional intake.
• Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report changes to nursing staff.
• Support resident mobility by assisting with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of assistive devices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and following infection control procedures.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
