Private Caregiver

Job Summary

Shift available

• 7am-7pm
• Mon-Fri 3-4 days a week variable
• Can pick up other shifts with different clients if interested

Requirements

• Must have extensive experience with dementia care
• Must be able to work as an independent caregiver without supervision inside memory care facility

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental and social well-being.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members.
• Support clients in engaging with community activities or recreational pursuits to encourage active lifestyles.Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any incidents or observations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with dementia
• Prior experience in home care or related fields is preferred but not required; a genuine desire to help others is essential.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures relevant to in-home care settings.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, with some familiarity with emergency protocols.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics or individuals with chronic conditions is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, medication reminders, and documentation.
• Certification in CPR or first aid is advantageous but not mandatory
• Willingness to obtain certification is appreciated.
