Medford, OR, US$39,520-$41,600Posted 26 days ago

Job Description

PRN Caregiver – Adult Foster Home

Company

Premier Elder Care, LLC Location: Medford, OR Pay: $300 per 24-hour shift, or $19-20 per hour with $50 per overnight Job Type: PRN / On-Call

About Us

Premier Elder Care, LLC operates residential Adult Foster Homes providing personalized care for older adults in a comfortable home setting. We value dependable caregivers who take pride in providing high-quality care and being part of a supportive, professional team.

Our caregivers work closely with our Administrator, Registered Nurse, and other members of the care team to provide safe, compassionate, and consistent care to our residents.

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable PRN Caregiver who can step in and assume caregiver shifts when regularly scheduled staff are unavailable due to call-outs, vacations, emergencies, or other staffing needs.

This is not a regularly scheduled position. Hours and shifts will vary based on the needs of the homes.

PRN caregivers should have flexibility and be willing to accept available shifts, including daytime, overnight, weekend, and 24-hour coverage when needed.

For 24-hour shifts, the caregiver sleeps in the home overnight while remaining responsible for responding to resident needs.

The PRN caregiver will assume responsibility for the assigned shift and perform the same resident care and household duties expected of the regularly scheduled caregiver.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage when scheduled caregivers call out or additional staffing is needed.
  • Assist up to five Adult Foster Home residents with activities of daily living, including eating, personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and ambulation.
  • Independently manage resident care and routine household responsibilities during the assigned shift.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and facility procedures.
  • Complete delegated nursing tasks as trained and authorized.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to resident dietary needs and established menus.
  • Complete housekeeping, laundry, and routine household tasks.
  • Follow resident care plans, facility policies, and established routines.
  • Assist residents with activities and social engagement.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to appropriate management or nursing staff.
  • Accurately document medications, resident care, observations, and other required information using our electronic charting system, Synkwise.
  • Respond appropriately to resident needs and emergencies during overnight hours.
  • Maintain professional communication with residents, families, coworkers, and management.

PRN Availability Expectations

Because this position is intended to provide coverage when other caregivers are unavailable, applicants must have reliable and reasonably flexible availability.

PRN caregivers may be contacted for

  • Same-day caregiver call-outs
  • Emergency staffing needs
  • Planned vacations or employee absences
  • Day or evening shifts
  • Overnight coverage
  • Weekend coverage
  • 24-hour shifts

There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours or shifts. Available work will depend on staffing needs.

Reliability is extremely important. Once a PRN caregiver accepts a shift, they are expected to report as scheduled and assume responsibility for that shift.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to our Medford-area homes.
  • Dependable and able to work independently.
  • Good judgment and ability to respond appropriately to changes in resident condition.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to safely assist elderly residents with personal care and mobility needs.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required.
  • Caregiving experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Why Join Premier Elder Care?

  • Flexible PRN scheduling
  • Opportunity to pick up additional shifts as they become available
  • Opportunity to step into full time position when available
  • Supportive management and nursing oversight
  • Residential work environment
  • Opportunity to build ongoing caregiving experience
  • Meaningful work supporting older adults in a small-home setting
