Temp to PRN CNA or Caregiver

Hopewell House is a 30+ year hospice institution in Portland now a residential care facility completely focused on end-of-life needs, with care for those who are dying and support for their families and loved ones. Typically, our residents are already in hospice and have a remaining life expectancy of 45 days or less. At Hopewell House, we maintain caregiver to resident ratios of 1:4. This helps us both ensure quality care and provide a more supportive work environment for our clinical staff.

Seeking certified nursing assistant (CNA) or experienced caregiver with availability for temporary day shifts (6:45 am-3:15 pm) Tuesday through Friday, to offer care to the end of life hospice residents at Hopewell House (HH). This position will be available from August 15 through January 2027, at which time the position will transition to PRN.

Hourly rates are $24-26 for day shift DOE. Noc shift differential offered if picking up noc shifts.

Education and Experience

Required

• Graduation from a Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Caregiver.
• Food Handlers Card
• CPR/AED/First Aid

Preferred

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a CNA.
• Experience working with hospice and/or palliative care residents/patients.
• Experience caring for multiple patients on shift

Qualifications

• No findings on the OBRA Federal CNA Registry or the OSBN CNA Abuse Registry
• Successful passing of criminal background check
• Proficient in reading and writing English

Duties

Provide total care and creates a model of hospitality for every HH resident and their loved ones.
