Weekend Hospice Caregiver needed

This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with or Motherreceiving hospic care services.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or catheter care as needed
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status
• Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document medication administration in journal
• Observe patient conditions closely, noting changes in behavior or health status related to dementia and other cognitive impairments
• Support with light meal preparation and nutritional needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the home environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support tailored to the needs of our Mother experiencing hospice or dementia care needs
• Assist with walking and transfers, using gate belt and walker
• Toileting and incontinence care
• Light housekeeping and laundry related to caregiving
• Keep our Mother engaged in brain health activities; such as art, puzzles, reading, music, tactile activities…etc.

Experience

• At least one year experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or hospice care environments is highly preferred
