Job Requirements – Night Shift Caregiver

Position

Night Shift Caregiver Schedule: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 5 days a week

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or personal care attendant preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and respectful care to residents during the night shift.
• Assist residents with toileting, repositioning, transfers, and personal hygiene as needed.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly.
• Ensure resident safety by conducting routine safety checks throughout the night.
• Assist with medication reminders or medication administration as permitted by facility policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and emergencies.
• Complete accurate documentation of care provided and overnight observations.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and cleaning common areas as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with the incoming day shift regarding resident status and any overnight events.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically able to assist residents with transfers, lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
• Ability to remain alert and respond appropriately during overnight hours.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an assisted living facility, residential care home, memory care, hospice, or home care setting.
