Responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support medical procedures by preparing patients, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed, and assisting with tasks like catheter care or wound dressing changes.
  • Document patient information precisely in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions closely, report changes promptly to nursing staff, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Use appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Experience

  • Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home care environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
