Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
  • Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision and attention to detail
  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Help with patient positioning, transfers using Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques, and safe patient movement practices
  • Monitor patient conditions closely, report changes promptly to nursing staff, and document observations accurately in medical records
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a caring environment that promotes mental well-being
  • Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques, proper hand hygiene, and adherence to safety protocols

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program
  • Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s care needs, and behavioral health conditions
