Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory impairments, including engaging in therapeutic activities.
• Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to ensure safe manual handling practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments like ICU, emergency medicine, or surgical units to deliver seamless patient care.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during patient interactions.

Skills

• Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures including CPR.
