Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I trauma centers to deliver timely patient service.
• Maintain infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to infection prevention protocols for infectious disease care.
• Assist with medical procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes.
