CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities

• Spanish speaker highly preferred.
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Assist with medical procedures, including catheterization and wound care
• Monitor patients and report any changes in their condition to the nursing staff
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families

Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program - Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) - Experience working with children is preferred - Knowledge of primary care principles and practices - Familiarity with catheterization procedures and techniques - Ability to perform basic medical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medication under the direction of a nurse - Experience in specialized areas such as ICU or hospice care is a plus - Familiarity with airway management techniques is desired

Skills: - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals - Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of patient information - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment - Compassionate and empathetic nature to provide emotional support to patients in need - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality - Ability to work well as part of a team in a collaborative healthcare setting
