Memory Care Caregiver

Overview

As a Memory Care Caregiver, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support to residents living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other cognitive disabilities. You’ll help residents with daily routines, encourage independence, and create a calm, safe environment. Your impact: By offering consistent, person-centered care, you help residents feel supported and help families feel confident in their loved one’s daily care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, dressing, bathing, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation and mealtimes, cleaning, and daily routines while respecting each resident’s rights and preferences.
• Observe and report changes in behavior or vital signs; follow care plans and medication administration procedures as authorized.
• Use safe patient lifting and manual handling practices; provide behavior management and direct support with patience.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and care team members; assist with transportation when assigned.

Skills

• Caregiving, memory care, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, senior care, and geriatrics experience are valuable.
• Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, home care, home and community care, residential care homes, personal care homes, retirement homes, or group homes is preferred.
• Experience supporting people with developmental, cognitive, or other disabilities is an asset.
• Knowledge of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is preferred; medication administration experience is helpful.
• Able to assist with ADLs, perform heavy lifting as required, and operate a standard passenger car when assigned.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
