Private Caregiver

Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide high-quality care to our 38 year old son living with MS, in-home and in the community. Seeking overnight (11:30pm - 9:00am); and 2nd shift (4:30pm to 11:30pm); 3-6 days/weeks. The ideal candidate will have experience working with someone who is wheelchair bound, sometimes requiring a hoyer lift for transfers. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing our son’s quality of life by assisting with daily activities and ensuring his safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, assistance with feeding.
• Provide personal care , support and companionship
• Engaging in favorite television shows, conversation, games
• Light assistance with and encouragement to exercise.
• Monitor and document vital signs and overall health condition, reporting any changes to the designated family member and/or knowing when to engage emergency service such as ambulance
• Occasional transportation in client's own vehicle
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and daily sanitation as individual is immunal compromised.
• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Assist with, and document medication administration as per care plan and guidelines.
• Support in social activities and community engagement to promote mental well-being.
• Light assistance with homework when client returns to school. Mainly assistance with computer log-in and maneuvering adaptive programs to assist with functionality.
• Utilize prescribed equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other required equipment, for safe transfers, health and well-being (when necessary).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
