Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene standards are followed.
• Administer medications accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care plans, documenting all medication administration procedures thoroughly.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to promote health and safety.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or those in hospice or long-term care settings.

Experience

• Prior experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, and managing care plans for seniors or individuals with complex medical needs.
• Familiarity with medical procedures such as vital signs measurement, CPR certification, first aid skills, and manual handling techniques like heavy lifting or the use of Hoyer lifts.
