Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately following physician orders and state regulations, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, while recognizing abnormal findings and reporting them promptly.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
  • Support residents with specialized care needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support.
  • Perform medical procedures such as catheter care, tube feeding, wound dressing changes, and basic first aid or CPR when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
  • Follow all safety protocols for manual handling and heavy lifting to prevent injury to yourself and residents.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with state Board of Nursing standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Work effectively within EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care activities thoroughly.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to physiology knowledge, anatomy, medical terminology, and caregiving best practices for geriatric populations.
