Duties

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Administer medications and treatments following physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare guidelines.
  • Support residents with specialized needs such as catheter care, or memory care activities tailored to individual care plans.
  • Document medical information precisely using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems; ensure all records are complete and compliant with medical documentation standards.
  • Assist with patient transfers and heavy lifting using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both residents and staff.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies by providing CPR or first aid when necessary; maintain readiness through ongoing training in basic life support (BLS).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and specific health conditions like dementia or hospice needs.
