Personal Assistant Caregiver

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately
• Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
• Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and any incidents or concerns
• Support clients in community settings or residential facilities by providing companionship, emotional support, and social engagement

Requirements

• Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home environments
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
• Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
